Oodnadatta is an easy track with highlights including: William Creek, Lake Eyre and mound springs. Strzelecki offers stunning red sand dunes and desert scenery, when you’re travelling the Birdsville track look out for the Lake Harry ruins, the Dingo fence and Mungerannie Gap.
Walks – There are four walks within the Flinders Ranges National Parks that are ideal for all fitness levels- Hills Homestead Walk, Sacred Canyon Walk, Wilpena Solar Power Station Walk and the Living with Land Walk.
Hikes – For those more adventurous types there are some fantastic hikes too including: Wangara Lookout, Trezona, Yuluna, and Drought Busters to name a few.

Mintaro Maze is a unique way to spend a day and if you can find your way around the 800 conifers you can play a giant game of chess constructed from local slate. Bungaree Station is a working farm that features walking trails and farm activities for tourists, while Dare’s Hill Driving Circuit is a five hour drive featuring old homesteads and ruins, picturesque landscapes and an incredible view that needs to be seen at the summit.

Located around 45mins south of the Adelaide’s city centre, this fabulous region is well worth a visit. The 100-cellar doors come complete with a first class dining scene attached and the wildlife will leave you in awe. Check out the little penguins on Granite Island or the kangaroos that dwell in the national parks. Stunning beaches lend themselves to any number of water sports while Kangaroo Island on the western tip of the peninsula is a several day stay in itself. Pristine beaches, cellar doors and farm gates are a few things to entice you.

National Parks have serviced camp areas, many with onsite rangers, designated generator and non-generator sites, fresh water, toilets and shower facilities. These areas may have restrictions on length of stay and park fees may apply. See the National Parks website for more information about national park camping sites and fees. There can be huge distances between townships so you may have to camp on private properties or Aboriginal lands, make sure you obtain permission and permits before entering the area. Some roads are not suitable for towing a caravan and there are camping restrictions in certain areas. Please check road conditions and permit requirements with the local Visitor Centres before you set off on your journey.

Some sections of roads are suitable for 4WD vehicles only. Take plenty of water on all Outback Trips. Check distances and driving conditions and ensure you have adequate fuel at all times. Remember Outback Rule “Number 1” – if your Vehicle breaks down you MUST stay with your Vehicle for safety reasons. Required driving times for 4WD on unsealed roads are longer, ensure you allow adequate time. During the ‘wet season’ from October to April, vehicles cannot access the 4WD only / unsealed roads. Plan your itinerary in advance to avoid disappointment
